The background to the founding of Ikatan Wanita Kreatif Indonesian (the Indonesian Association of Creative Women) began with the idea of Mrs. Taty Suryati who thought that the creativity of each woman would be able to develop if each other supported and complemented each other.

Then a meeting was held on January 8, 2015 which was attended by Mrs. Taty Suryati, Mrs. Deby Verhelst Subiyanti, Mrs. Priharyanti van Herp, Mrs. Yanti van Plajoe and Mrs. Ferry Mayawati to discuss together and follow up on Mrs. Taty Suryati's ideas. And it was agreed to synergize with Stichting Peduli Seni Indonesia which is managed by Mrs. Deby Verhelst Subiyanti, which should be noted that the foundation has previously collaborated with other parties and in the future there will be a lot of collaboration with other parties outside IWKI, therefore it is necessary to have agreement from the start so that there remains mutual harmony and there are no misunderstandings in the future.
