Azzedine Karrat was born in 1987 in Metalsa, Morocco.
He has completed a five-year course in Quran recitation techniques, completed a bachelor in Islamology and a master in Islamic Spiritual Care at the Islamic University of Rotterdam. He has been working as a Quran teacher at the same institution since 2007. He had his own IT company, but stepped back from his work as an IT professional to give lectures, which he started in 2007. Since 2013, he has been an imam of the Essalam mosque in Rotterdam.
